Fellowship Council Accredited Fellowship in Robotic, Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery
- Established in 2010, the Baptist Health Miami Robotic, Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery Fellowship is a Fellowship Council-accredited, one-year advanced clinical fellowship designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in minimally invasive, robotic, foregut, hernia, and bariatric surgery.Over the past decade and a half, the fellowship has trained surgeons who now practice throughout the United States in academic medical centers, large healthcare systems, and private practice. Our graduates have become leaders in robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical education, carrying forward the skills and values developed during their fellowship training.
Comprehensive Clinical Training
The fellowship provides intensive hands-on experience in the full spectrum of advanced minimally invasive surgery, including:
- Robotic General Surgery
- Robotic Bariatric Surgery
- Foregut and Anti-Reflux Surgery
- Complex Hiatal Hernia Repair
- Abdominal Wall Reconstruction and Hernia Surgery
- Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgery

Robotic Surgery Excellence
Robotic surgery is fully integrated throughout the fellowship experience. Fellows receive progressive responsibility in robotic procedures while developing advanced technical skills, operative judgment, and efficiency using the latest robotic surgical platforms.
Training emphasizes not only operative technique but also patient selection, perioperative management, complication prevention, and multidisciplinary care.

In addition to comprehensive clinical training, fellows participate in a robust academic program that includes:
